Judge Danalyn Savage grew up in Middleport, NY. She went to college at Roberts Wesleyan University where she majored in Psychology and played basketball. After graduating college in 2002, she went straight to law school at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. While there she was the chaplain for the law school and played intramural basketball with the men at the University.

Upon graduation from law school in 2005, Judge Savage moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where she took the bar exam. She was sworn in as an attorney in October of that year and worked for a small insurance defense firm until that firm closed in November, 2006.

After working for an aerial photography company until the following February, Judge Savage became a Deputy County Attorney for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and served in that capacity for a little over 9 years. The bulk of her time there was spent handling cases in the Family Violence Unit and the Grand Jury Unit.

In August of 2016, Judge Savage relocated to Yavapai County and began her work as a prosecutor for the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office. While there, she spent a majority of her time carrying a heavy caseload in the Juvenile Division reviewing, charging, and prosecuting cases. In 2021 she was named Arizona’s Juvenile Prosecutor of the Year. Before long, she was appointed to the bench in December of 2023 and proceeded to take the bench on January 3, 2024.

Judge Savage currently oversees the Mental Health and Recovery Courts, Rule 11 hearings, Title 36 hearings, Guardianship, and Conservatorship cases. When she’s not serving on the bench, Judge Savage enjoys watching movies with her family, playing her saxophone, dreaming up ways to improve her garden, and coaching a local middle-school cross-country team.
